Ooh La La

We had a delightful day celebrating our daughter, Elyse's 1st birthday. In the morning we went to church, then in the late afternoon had lots of family join us at our home for croissant sandwiches, fruit salad, and cake. Elyse wore a Cath Kidston dress from my sister and was happily smiling while walking around and greeting everyone the whole day.

This Coconut Cream cake was divine. Since we really liked Sams Club's cupcakes for Grant's last party I decided to give their cake a try, and it not only looked perfect with the bunting {Vintage Collection from Oriental Trading Co.} but tasted heavenly! Personalized linen napkin was a random find at Downeast Outfitters...I plan to use for her special celebrations to come!

I came up with the idea for French theme when I found these invitations {Lovely Macaroons from Vista Print}. I knew I wanted to have actual macaroons for the party and was able to special order some from a local bakery called Sweetly Divine. With those pastel colors in mind, I picked up some plates and napkins also from the Vintage Collection by Oriental Trading Co. (found at the local Watkins party store), resulting in our Vintage French theme birthday party. J'adore!

This bunting decoration doubled as a timeline of Elyse from birth-now. The clothes pins made it super easy to display the photos without damaging them or the bunting, keeping them all re-usable. Eiffel tower photos were found online and I just made up the number 1's which were all printed by me at home.

LOVE these Martha Stewart paper pom poms from Michaels (for those of you who didn't know this, they will coupon match with Hobby Lobby. I therefore was able to pick these up at 40% off!). They since have been transferred to Elyse's bedroom ceiling where the party lives on. ;)

Hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into our Vintage French themed party for our Miss Elyse. It was a very Joyeux Anniversaire!
