Boys' Rooms

Here's our last two rooms to share. Glad I finished up this home tour as well as getting all of our holiday decor up...record first by Dec. 1st! This weekend I plan to wrap gifts (yep, all done with shopping thanks to Amazon Prime membership....signed up for Moms Club back in Sept. which gave us 2 mon. free + my husband is a student, so another 6 mon. free!) and put together a fun, easy, and creative gift for friends (DIY post to come).

Christmas is really feeling fun this year with Benjamin picking up on more of the festivities...I asked him yesterday what he wanted for Christmas and he said: "Cake!" A few minutes later he said "No, cookies!" I said, "We can do that!" Last year I discovered my love for gingerbread cookies (pregnancy craving?) so this year we're going to try this recipe. I also have some fun things to share coming in another Latest Loves post. Until then, welcome our to our two boy's rooms ~ rooms for rest, inspiration, and play!

We're very lucky to have inherited this bedroom set from my Uncle Karl. Goes to show how all-solid wood furniture will truly last and last. This set has to be going on 50 years by now!

Transferred all of this decor (minus the big boy bedding) from the nursery. Our goal when designing that space was to have it be a room he/she could grow into, and voila: mission accomplished!

So glad we never bought a changing table. This dresser has served great double-duty! We still find this to be the COMFIEST chair ever. Here it is 2 years and 2 kids later and still in EXCELLENT condition!!!

Custom name banners are such a fun and safe way to decorate! We're still cautious about not placing anything too heavy above our children's heads. Love how I was able to pick out all of the colors of the letters to tie-in with all of the colors in the room.

View from where Benjamin lies his head.

"Dreams too big are just the right size" Quote unknown....painted by me! Helium balloons hung with thin white twine and S hooks. Babar figurines from a friend's mom who saved them from her daughers' childhood. Found out they were once the prizes from Arby's kids meals! :O

My favorite ~ Wynken, Blynken, and Nod. Typed, framed, and matted by me.

Gotta mark these growing boys' progress!

I've thought about doing something like this above the crib. Or ordering another custom name banner.

Framed this baby card while expecting Mr. G ~ "Welcome to the world little one. It is even now that much better because you are here. " - Curly Girl Designs

Found another great use for this TV cart. Remember how we were using it before?

Love the modern but friendly feel of this piece. It's not only fun, but educational too!
