It's begun...

A new year, and waking up at around 4:00 a.m. in the morning. I welcome the first but am not enjoying the second. For those of you who have been/are pregnant, you know what I'm talking about. That sudden urge to go to the bathroom (even though you made sure to go twice before bed), then the wide-awake mind that rattles around random things like...documenting photo albums...organizing a cupboard...hanging a picture...changing font colors on my blog...yep, all totally random and for the most part, pretty unimportant things.

Sometimes if I'm really lucky I can get myself to go back to sleep, but that's only after an hour of so of restlessness. And it's not because I'm uncomfortable because I totally love our bed and even have a special Boppy Pregnancy Pillow (btw- I finally discovered the perfect fit for me by removing some of the filling), and have a husband who doesn't care whatever temperature I set our thermostat to. Since I experienced this same middle of the night wake-up thing with our first, I now know that insomnia is just a normal part of pregnancy. The good news is that I eventually get back to sleep and during the day can even nap sitting up!

While on the pregnancy topic, be prepared for a post soon on our Fourth Trimester Nursery. That's the name I've given to the space in our bedroom that will be dedicated to little P. I've decided to call the space in our room that because I know how important it is for babies to have that right-next-to-mom time after they're born, and how just as much time and love has gone into preparing this space as an entire nursery room. It will be temporary, but pleasant to look at and functional.

Alright, well I think I'll check out blogs on my Dashboard then try to go back to sleep. Happy new year and good night.

  1. Oh, I remember those nights. The nights that felt like they would never end because I was sure I was NEVER going back to sleep. I look forward to your post about the space in your room for your newest addition!
