This is a MUST READ NY Times article for parents or child caregivers. It was sent to me by my brother, Chris, who is an English teacher at an inner-city charter school in Boston. He has shared with me the advantages that some of his fifth grade students have over other students when it comes to writing, reading, and overall communication skills, and finds their levels of learning in direct relation to the quality of parenting/home life.
I have a love for reading and was always surrounded by books growing up, but this article shares how it's never too early to start verbally, emotionally, and physically engaging children (yes, even babies!) on a daily basis.
Enjoy!
